Program Mission & Goals

The Eau Claire North Strength & Conditioning program strives to improve the athletic performance and decrease the rate of injury in all athletes at all fitness & skill levels. We work to teach our athletes proper movement patterns through developmentally appropriate progressions and programming to help them experience success no matter where they are in their fitness journey. We strive to instill hard work, discipline, responsibility, consistency, and perseverance through positive relationships with our athletes. We teach our athletes lifelong skills that will set them up for success long after they leave North High School.

Our Strength & Conditioning program combines three protocols to create an elite training regimen for every athlete:

AST-Final-1024x648 Program

Our Athletic Strength Training (AST) protocol is incorporates individualized programming specifically designed to increase strength and explosiveness. We utilize components from multiple disciplines (bodybuilding, powerlifting, olympic lifting, Crossfit, etc.) to develop well-rounded athletes.

PAWS-Final-1024x1024 Program

Our Power, Agility, Work Capacity, and Speed (PAWS) protocol bridges the gap between our AST protocol and sports. We work to improve sprinting speed and mechanics, jumping and landing techniques, change of direction, footwork, reaction time, and throwing power.

AUX-Final-1024x723 Program

Auxiliary Training days prepare our athletes for the unpredictable nature of sports. Challenges and competitions using odd objects and alternative training methods set our athletes apart from the rest. Compete to win!

Belt System

In an effort to provide each athlete with effective and developmentally appropriate programming, we implement a Belt System. This system allows us to set clear goals for our athletes which are focused on major movement patterns that are important to being a well-rounded athlete. Depending on an athlete’s ability to demonstrate proficiency of certain criteria, the athlete is given a program that is developmentally appropriate for their fitness level. Summer Strength & Conditioning

Our Summer Strength & Conditioning program runs through ECASD’s summer school. The program is offered for 6-8 weeks starting in early June and finishing in the beginning of August, when fall sports begin practicing. We provide multiple sessions four days a week that are open to all high school and middle school ECASD students. The goal of our program is to improve overall athletic ability and strength levels in our athletes, while preparing them for the start of fall sports.
