Event Details

The Strength & Conditioning Iditarod is a team-based strength & conditioning competition. The events will test the athletes’ strength, endurance, power, mental toughness, and teamwork as they progress through a series of challenges over the course of three days.

Details of some challenges may be released during registration times, while others may not be released until athletes show up to the challenge. Athletes must be prepared to attack any challenge that is set before them in order to be successful in this competition. The event will incorporate elements from all three of our training protocols: AST, PAWS, and AUX.

The Iditarod is a world-famous sled dog race that takes place in Alaska each year during early March. The race covers over 900 miles from Nome to Anchorage, and has been completed by the last few winners in under 9 days. Huskies are a very common choice for sled dogs in the Iditarod because of their athleticism, toughness, will to win, and ability to succeed in the face of adversity. The challenges in this competition will test the best of the best, demonstrating what it truly means to be Husky Tough.

Competition Rules
  • All athletes must have earned their White Belt (or above) to be eligible.
  • There are two divisions: Males and Females. This means ALL competitors on the same team must be the same gender.
  • Competitors on the same team do not have to have the same belt.
  • All competitors must be present all three days to be eligible to win. Check your calendars to ensure you are able to attend the entire event. If one member of a team cannot attend a day, the team will be disqualified.
  • Challenge-specific rules will be released when necessary.
  • Judgment calls within the competition will be made by the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach with guidance from the assistant coaches as necessary.
